Students will be sent home or denied entry into the classroom if ANY of the following symptoms are present: Fever of 100 or higher, new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain from unknown cause, new congestion/runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue from an unknown cause, muscle or body aches.
- If a student comes to school or develops any of these symptoms while at school, the school nurse will assess the student’s symptoms and the parent may be notified to pick up the child. If a child is being picked up, the child will be sent to a separate room with nurse or nurse assistant supervision until the child is picked up. The guidelines below will be used to determine when the child can return to school.
- If a parent knowingly sends their child to school while sick or with these symptoms, the child may be required to rejoin remote learning at the discretion of administration.
