Welcome back to the 2025-2026 school year!
8-1-25
Dear Lieb Families,
I hope you are enjoying a restful and joyful summer! We are excited to welcome both new and returning families to Lieb School for another wonderful school year.
We extend a thank you to our custodial team who yet again made our school beautiful over the summer. Our PBIS team will be joining us soon to decorate our halls with this year’s garden theme Growing a Community of Kindness.
This year, we are also launching a new reading curriculum called Into Reading, designed to support all students with engaging texts, targeted skill development, and meaningful learning experiences. We’re excited about the impact it will have on student literacy growth.
As always, student attendance and on-time arrival are essential to success. Our school day begins at 8:50 AM, and we encourage all students to arrive between 8:40 and 8:50 AM to ensure they are ready to learn. Starting the day on time helps students feel confident and connected right from the start.
On August 15th, the first day of school, teachers will be outside to greet students and help them line up before entering the building. This helps ease those first-day jitters and builds strong relationships right away. This is also a half day of school with gr. 1-5 dismissing at 12:10p.m. Kindergarten students and parents are scheduled on the first day for orientation from 9:30-11am.
We encourage all families to attend our upcoming Open House on August 14th from 6-7:30p.m. This event is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, and learn about what’s ahead as well as reduce first day worries for our students. It also gives families a chance to get involved in the school community. Please be sure to visit the tables for PTA, Parent Mentors, Oak Lawn Library, and more.
We can’t wait to welcome your children back to school soon. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!
Warmly,
Rhonda Kulig
Principal of Lieb School
