Students showered Officer Bill with cards, smiles, and thank-you's today. Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Thank you to Officer Bill and to Bridgeview and Oak Lawn Departments for keeping staff and students safe.

Kindergarteners dressing extra special for lunch. Happy New Year from Mrs. Hussein’s class.

Our P.E. classes are always incorporating cross-curricular activities. They talk about the different seasons, months, and even do multiplication! This student is holding up a dice that the team multiplies to play a scooter game!

Ms. Queenan and Ms. Pfiffner's class were super cozy! Students embraced the theme of not letting others judge you and believe. They look like they had fun and got the message!

Students in Ms. Wrobel's Kindergarten room participated in a "mystery reader". A parent reads to the students via zoom and the students don't know who the parent will be. They were so excited! We love incorporating parents into our day, even if they can't be in the building.

We had 2 busy days before Winter Break. Students in Ms. Green's Second Grade Class did an ornament/gift painting craft to give to their loved ones.

We had 2 busy days right before Winter Break. Students in Ms. Joudeh's K room learned the importance of playing board games at home. Board Games are so important in developing executive functioning: organization, sequencing, prioritization, etc.

Ms. Joudeh is our most veteran Kinder teacher. She often takes a leadership role in planning activities & curriculum. Today, her class was working on #5. Students write the number 5, tally it, use ten frames, draw pictures, identify the number by circling it, & so much more!

Mrs. Walkosz uses her talents in sewing to help out a student's ripped winter hat. She is a jack of all trades and we are lucky to have her in third grade!
In addition to Ms. Walkosz's many talents, she is also a Safety Master! 3rd grade students were reviewing hallway protocols so that there is no disruption to learning in the classroom. Students also get reminders because of Covid. Thank you, Ms. Walkosz!

Ms. Wrobel's Kindergarten Class can multi-task! Students were singing "Count to 100" today while doing their morning work. Talk about talent! What a great way to get the day started. It definitely pumped me up!

Ms. Svec's class had so much fun making these turkeys before Fall Break! Students were so creative in "hiding" their turkey. We missed seeing student artwork in the halls during the pandemic. It's so heartwarming!

Ms. Hussein's class is working hard at math centers. Students have a variety of activities to keep themselves busy and learning math in different ways!

This week's Tuesday & Wednesday breakfast & lunch options are flipped. Tuesday (tomorrow) is now Cereal & Graham Bears for breakfast & Cheese/Salsa Nachos & Carrots for lunch. Wednesday is now Jelly/ Bagel for breakfast & Chicken Nuggets, Waffle, Celery, Broccoli/Ranch for lunch.
Students in our Art Club made cards for residents at an assisted living facility. Winter months can be so hard and we love having our students participate in service learning projects. Thank you, Ms. Krull for setting up this opportunity!

Officer Bill went into two 1st grade classrooms last week to award some special coupons and talk about good character. Two students were caught doing something good. They returned a stack of coupons that weren't theirs. Great job and thank you, Officer Bill!

Ms. Ames works hard to facilitate her center group! These math extra ordinaires are learning about decimals and working so hard! Great job!
